The Bath Club was originally built in 1926 as the very first members-only club in Florida. For decades, it stood only as a gathering place where the super wealthy, celebrities and influencers could come together in a social setting for lunch, swimming and tennis. In 1996, Don Peebles became the first African American member of the club and several years later purchased the club with the intent to construct a luxury condominium building on its grounds, while keeping the historic social club.
